Trackball ???

Track balls take up less space, since you don't have to move them around. You don't run out of mouse space and have to pick it up while your trying to keep the clicker down. You can move from one side of the screen to the other extremely fast. Plus they usually have extra assignable buttons so for most commands you don't even need the keyboard. Combine that with quick keys and you've got a very powerful tool that will make you look like a computer ninja to your clients. Also, if it's wireless, you can pretty much just set it on your lap. I can pretty much do all basic commands and functions and no one ever sees me move my hands.

Used the TurboMouse from Kensington for years. I go insane if I have to use anything else because the 4 primary tools are assigned to the extra buttons and makes my minute-by-minute work go so much faster. If I'm on a stage where the Pro Tools systems are remoted (in another room, for quiet) and they use a USB extended that doesn't support the Kensington's extra buttons and I make them replace it with a Gefen or equivalent.

Count me in as an Trackball user, I'm on my third one. The optical geezer with the scroll ring is great!! I never liked the Pro unit with the scroll wheel up high, it was too much of a stretch.. Had more buttons - but still, too far away.
