Burning ISO to DVD question

I have a few ISO files on my hard drive and they play perfectly fine on the computer, but when I burn them with Nero (4x speed) and try to play them again, sometimes the Bonus Features do not work, sometimes the disc will get stucked and stop at varies places while playing, I was wondering what might have been the problems? just DVD-Rs? or does Ram and other hardwares matter during burning process?

When burning I do not use my PC for anything, I also burn at 2.4x.

i'll try to burn with 2x instead of 4x, i do not use my pc while encoding or burning, i've been using GQ (from Fry's) dvd-r media because it's printable on the top. i believe the problem is either dvd-r because the ISO i have plays perfectly on my computer. i just want to make sure ram will not effect during burning, i have 512 and i wish it's enough for nero to burn a disc which takes approx. 8mins

shouldn't have a prob with 512 meg ram. If different brand or lot of media doesn't help, *Might* want to try burning less to disk, though realize that may be a big project. :( I use cheapest discs I can find, and staying below the max space on DVD seems to help.

i leave 15~25mb on the disc and for some reason it's always the bonus feature part that's having trouble playing

thanks guys for the info. i'm new to the whole dvd rip thing so i'll do some reading about 'authoring' and give it a try. i believe my sony dvd burner is a pretty good burner but the problem may be my GQ (fry's) dvd-r discs, i'll try some other brands but GQ is the only brand (i see) that has printable tops.

Check player & burner reports at videohelp.com -- you'll see if someone has reported one brand or another works well or stinks. And, if you go back to Fry's (who could resist?:)) carry the label from your current batch of discs with you (if you still have it). Many times the label will give an indication of the lot #, where the disc was made, next batch might be from another company in another country.

Yea, I would say that the problem is almost certainly the media. The printable tops throw off the rotation a bit dont they? Kind of like those crappy label stickers? Get some TDK, or verbatim, or maxell, or memorex. I have always had good luck with all of those brands of media. By the by. To those buying the cheapest dvd's out there. You most likely will be having to rebackup those burns in the future. Cheapo media goes bunk at the drop of a hat and suffers from dvd rot. Meaning the foil just flakes right off and the data with it.
