Why is the take system still only halfway there?

I'll post this link every so often from now on since there are so few takes FRs that are actually FRs...

I like Reaper's take system as it is. Looking at Studio One's "way", it is just obfuscated ways of doing what Reaper does. Do you want a button to select takes instead of just clicking on the take? Do you want a button to move the take up a lane (instead of selecting the region ON THE TAKE THAT YOU WANT)? It can't be easier, and it's not subjective! You might like to use more steps, or to have the requirement to click on a button instead of a media item, but... that's not "simpler".... ???

I took me a few minutes but I figured it out. Selection Sets!!! (Screensets and Layouts) Are you familiar? I've actually never made a video on them because I haven't found a use for them. Until now… Set one up and then make a Custom Action that Loads that selection set and then goes into Record and use that as your record button. Or set up an Alternate recording button for when you want this functionality. And all you have to do each time is select the new Item you want and load that in as your new Selection Set. One click. Just tested it and it works!!
