How to achieve a ghostly voice?

I have always been wondering how to achieve the kind of voice you can hear in this clip (the lady of the lake character). You guys have any clue? My guess is to record each phrase like 10 time, reverse 9 out of 10, manually set them up and adjust pan/vol and add a sh**load of reverb. What do you suggest? Should the 9 voices be recorded in another way then the main one? CLIP :

reverse, add reverb, reverse again, more reverb - that's a good start consider some sort of harmonizer effect beforehand like reapitch or ozzifier. knock out everything below 400hz to make it more whispery.

I think you need to use phantom power on your mic :p

Reverse reverb plus layer multiple whisper tracks over the original. Just have the vocalist whisper in monotone over the original. Then spend some time messing around flangers, delays, chorus, or whatever if you feel like it.

I am also interested in this - but not enough to actually experiment. If you have any success in duplication, I would love to hear it, and how you ended up getting there!

Tomorrow is our last day of recording the material. I`ll let you know during the mixes how it went.

Probably a bit late for this, sorry. Another method is to use a longish reverb impulse response. Select and reverse the first half second and save this new IR file. Now load that into eg Reaverb. There will be a half second delay, so just slide the rendered audio back, or slide the vocal track back first. Again, sorry if this is too late. Steve
