Rendering Problem: MIDI and Audio

Hi. I received so much helpful advice for my first MIDI issues that I thought I'd ask here for help with my latest conundrum. I tried to render a project. The project includes both audio and MIDI. After the rendering finished, I listened to the MP3 file. Only the audio sections of the project were in the MP3 file, but the MIDI parts were not there. I'd appreciate any advice you would like to offer. Also, please write any instructions as if you were talking to a 5 year-old. Thanks a lot.

I think that you are sending your MIDI out of Reaper (to the MS Synth or similar). If so then the audio is produced outside Reaper and cannot be rendered by Reaper. You will need to add a Synth or Sampler to the Reaper tracks where the MIDI is; these will then create some audio which can be rendered by Reaper. --------------- I suppose that you could record the audio produced by the external synth back into Reaper as new audio tracks then render those. But you will need to set your Windows Audio Mixer recording source to be "Stereo Mix" or similar and the quality won't be too good.
