ReaEQ phase curve display?

Basically, the type of filters that ReaEQ uses cause a shift in phase around the frequency of the filter... This can cause problems like smeared transients or comb filtering if you combine the EQed signal with a similar signal, say the same instrument from a different mic. The phase graph shows you how much phase shift is being caused.

Also... phase shift means that different frequencies are delayed differently, the phase shows you that (if you can read it, I cannot :))

It's not really a tool that will help you during mixing, but I find it nice as an educational display...

It just shows how phase is affected at any given frequency, and is entirely useless.

So, would the phase delay be measured by the amount higher or lower the phase line is, or is it in the areas where the phase curve distances from the eq curve (when they are not parallel)?

Neither. The group delay would be measured by how steep the phase curve is at any given frequency (ignoring wraparound and sign changes)

So the shape of the phase curve should not worry me in terms of sound quality? Assuming I am not mixing multiple sounds from the same source? The phase curve looks pretty wild sometimes, especially with low+high pass filters.

right. I know that a low or high pass will jet it strait up. infinite delay eh?
