Make 2 tracks into a stereo .wav file?

I have been recording a left and right output from a cassette machine. How would I turn them into a single .wav file please? Have tried rendering them together, but then I can't find the rendered file afterwards?? I can't find much about rendering in the manual and I 'm not even sure if this is the right method. Much appreciated. :)

I don't know how you have them recorded, but if all you want to do is render a single stereo file from your files the Render options are in the *File* menu or click Ctrl+Alt+R. There's quite a lot of options but I guess you would want render entire project You can browse for a folder to save it in there too

Arlreet Ted I recorded them on two tracks one panned left t'other right. I think a (monu)mental block here is that I don't really (that means not at all) understand the render function - A merging of all tracks and effects in the project? there's also a consolidated function in *file*?

You got it right with Render. It will produce a single file output for the selected tracks with effects (and lots of other options/preferences as well). Consolidate is more of a file management function designed to let you share your projects with folks that do not use Reaper.

Well if you did record them both panned you could have just put them in a track in Free Item Positioning mode and Glued them together, that's clever isn't it? However I presume you recorded the tracks normally (centered) and now you want to pan them left and right and unite them, if so Render them from the File menu. Dermetz trick works too , but it's generally more for faffin about within a project, but if I understand correctly the stereo file is all there is to it

Pine's and Log's, you guys kill me. When my band "Big Woody and the Bushmen" broke up, I made a solo cd called "Big Woody Stands Alone".

When Rendering to a .Wav file, make sure the "Render to Master" is checked otherwise no file will be generated.
