ASIO driver lockup on Reaper crash

Happens everytime Reaper crashes (4 times yesterday). Forces me to reboot, which is not particularly quick. I use the Line 6 Toneport UX2. ASIO drivers are pretty solid. When Reaper crashes, I cannot find a process to terminate in task manager, and trying to disable/enable in device manager just hangs. Anyone have any ideas about how I can "reset" the ASIO driver without having to reboot every time?

I experience this constantly, in my case due to a bad usb connection, it seems, no Reaper-fault what so ever. Often it helps to just unplug the card, in my case an Edirol UA25, and plugging it in again and restarting Reaper. Only in some rare cases I have to reboot, didn't find the reason why up to now, but it happens in other hosts too - checked just to be sure.

I have a number of interfaces and Line 6 is particularly bad about hanging onto the driver when the other side quits. Unplugging and re-plugging the USB connection should clear it.

if u have ReaRoute installed, remove it and see. Had the same problem then it stopped once i scratched rearoute.

I've found the Toneport ASIO to be reasonable but I can get it to,"No sound" by pilot error.I have my Reaper on F4 to launch and if I occidentally hit it twice and two instances of reaper start of course the ASIO can't handle it.If I shut an instance down and then as another poster says just unplug and re-plug the USB in an it dings back into play. If I do get locks I use Process Explorer. Which I have on my Start menu for ease. Also I use an old version of Cacheman to tweak my system which also unloads unused .dlls.
