I'm about to service my 1999 V40 1.9 diesel. I haven't been able to get my hands on a service manual. I plan to do the usual oil/filter, air filter, fuel filter, plus I need to fit new front brake pads. Is there anything I need to be aware of, hints tips etc. or is it all fairly straight forward? I've done loads of car servicing before, just never on one of these. Thanks.
hi just basicly refill oil slowly as if its too quickly filled it can get into breather pipes and cause run on, and fuel filter located under the fuse box different people have different methods of getting too it (eg unbolting fuse box, or taking out the air intake ) but its all pretty easy, and the fuel filter is normaly inside a black cover thingy ( unless someones dumped it at somepoint) and it comes off by unbolting the bolts above it even has a priming pump on the filter head which is great
oh yeah cant remember about the front calipers but the backs are the ones that you have to wind in but the tools are reasonably cheap in halfords for that, some people seam to get away with using things like the angle grinder key to put in the receses
