How Many Takes per Track ?

Just started using multi takes on one track and was wondering how many takes can you pile up per track ? Is there a limit or a good rule of thumb to use? Thanks Basil

I don't think there is a physical limit at least not one that I have run into, but more a practical one. Personally I find that more that 10 or so starts to get too crowded and confusing. If I have that many I will either start a new track, or stop and go thru the ones I have done, getting rid of the ones that really suck (right click delete active take) and start adding again. Anybody hit an actual limit?

I only ever use them for a) tracking solos or b) bouncing FX. For A, I go until I think I've got enough to slice a good solo from. B, generally two or three. It really all depends on how you work and what you're doing.
