to disable play cursor when clicking in track view?

one thing i really dislike is that when i want to move the edit cursor, and the project is in the middle of playing, playback starts over automatically where i move the cursor. is there a way to disable that? i mean, what is that? is it a feature? if i am going to move the edit cursor to paste in a media event, why would i want to have playback start at the edit cursor location before i paste the object? i understand there is a play cursor, and it represents where the project is in terms of playback, but the edit cursor needs to be independent of that. i cannot think of a single reason why i would want to tell a DAW to start playing from a place with a left click unless i put the edit cursor there, and hit the play button or the space bar twice (one to stop current playback, and another to start playback at the edit cursor position.)

Open the preferences -> Audio -> Playback Adjust the options that define "seek playback" to your content. Mine are all disabled.
