I Give In (using only reaper for sequencer lines)

I always wanted to open a bar... a drinking bar It would be one big room but would have two entry doors so that the building's front appeared to be two diff places, right next to each other... One would be called Plan B ...and the other would be called Square One think about it... :D so yeah... make the midi item that does what you want... then just drag it out as a loop or copy and paste it repeatedly... the copy and paste way can be cool since they will be 'pool copies'... so if you edit one, you automatically edit them all.. UNLESS you want one or more of the copies to be unique, in which case you just click off the media item icon for pool copy...

Have you had a play with JS:/MIDI Sequencer/baby ? Chuck in SQL8 as a VSTi - not crashed here ... :-) db

Not really clear to me what you're trying to accomplish when you say "I am trying to create a virtual 16 step sequencer". But creating looped items in REAPER is easy. Just create the MIDI item, either write in the MIDI Editor or record what you want to sequence, and then loop and drag. Simple. DB

sequencer baby as a take fx seems pretty straight forward. when you are done sequencing, you could bounce the midi data to another track for further manipulation.
