First Post here :) Need alittle help please.

Say I have recorded 10 guitar solo tracks in the take lane and after I'm done I like 4 of them and I want them on that track of course is my only choice to first delete all the unwanted takes in lane view then explode all to takes to tracks then delete the lanes then copy all the new tracks media back to the track they started on then delete all the empty tracks left behind from this process if so that kind of suck. How do you just explode to the same track your on?? Its hard for me to believe with all the options this Daw has that the Reaper team didn't think of this. Is it just me am I doing something wrong. I have been though all the Daw's out there and reaper is the best and while I like the lane system I hate what you have to go though to review and keep the takes you want to keep. I hope I'm just doing it wrong please someone point me in the right direction.

Action: Explode takes in place If you remove unwanted takes before exploding or removing items after exploding is up to you. Can't tell at the moment if this action belongs to the sws extensions. Maybe you should install them first.

Well this is odd. When I went to try explode in place it didn't work all that did was stack all the parts on top of each other but I seen an option I hadn't seen before called explode in order and sure enough it worked perfect. Is this a new option as I have never seen it before?

Both explodes have been there for a while And "Explode in place" does exactly that - converting the takes in a single clip into separate clips then stacking them. "Explode in order" converts the takes into clips then arranges them sequentially.
