How reliable are these fob's...

I got two with the car, but yesterday I managed to (AFTER programming the bloody thing) get locked inside!! (very scary). I put new batterie's in them, and the one I allway's use I programmed without much of a problem, but the other one mmmmmmm....that's when the trouble started. All went went well till I tried to disarm it and it wouldn't!!. Didn't know what to do, so turned they key to the ig light's and of course set the alarm off. Tried them reprogramming it again....nope....just wouldn't take. So ended up reprogramming my usual one again (as it wouldn't work now!!) to disarm it. Do I maybe need new fob's and if so how much can expect from a stealer.. This is what I have (2 of) that's the one I use.

Mine was a pain for years by frequently not opening the car. Eventually chucked it and bought a new one. No problems since.

There's two types of these fobs which look the same but work on different frequencies. Go to the dealer and they will bring some out to your car and programme them for you there and check they actually work.
