hi thanks for the info about OMF. but im still having problems installing pt 5.0.1 . system works fine, but when i intall 5.0.1 from the installer disk, it freezes at the gray screen with the smily face. i then have to reboot after that with the OS disk. and it runs real slow. if i restart the computer again, it runs faster, but it wont run off the hard drive cause it will freeze at the gray screen. is there an extension problem? im confused joe

To eliminate extensions as a cause, you would need to boot off of the hard disk while holding the shift key, which turns all extensions off. If you still cannot boot, then an extension is not the cause of this problem.
