Action to Play Regions in Custom Order?

I'm a reaper noob still in demo mode, I searched and found some similar threads but not exactly... Here is what i want to do, it seems very basic: Create standalone regions that would be '1-intro', '2-verse', '3-chorus', etc. They are standalone because each region has a 8 count click built onto the front of it.The click is not part of the region. Here is what I'd like to know how to do: Write a macro/action that simply says: Play region 1. Play region 2 four times. Play region 3 two times. etc etc etc I notice in the custom action edit area it seems this is done by using markers, which seems far more complicated/keystrokes than is necessary. I would appreciate any info on how to do this in reaper. thanks.

if you trim the region markers to bar lengths you can copy/paste/drag them around and all the audio/midi wil be copied/moved with it,makes trying out arrangements very easy and quick. MC

Hmmm.... "easy and quick" are not words I'd use to describe that in comparison to what he was asking about but yeah, you can manually move regions around, duplicate them, that kind of thing.

Heck, I'd settle for "Go to Region xx" actions for now.

There are actions for going forward / back a region at a time. I activate these with a midi controller for jamming out a song structure as I am building a song up. Custom Action 1 (Called Next Reg by me) SWS: Select next region Go to start of time selection Custom Action 2 (Called Prev Reg by me) SWS: Select Previous Region Go to start of time selection Hope thats of some help Cheers Jed

No way to do what you asked by macros, but a ReaScript could do it. Not me though, Ahk scripts Im fine with, no idea at all with ReaScripts (you need Python installed for this.) Region playlist is a long FR here, Id be happy with a simple notepad gui for now to accomplish it.

That would be a nice feature. Not in Reaper yet.
