Building a Laptop for Audio

Having perused your link there, Bullshark, I am at this point willing to run happlessly/luckily into a laptop suitable for audio... but am definitely no longer married to the idea. I have found a little rocket of a machine though in a med-tower-sized desktop, and will likely go with it. I'll build a case for carrying it if I want to record on-location. It'll be a sound-insulated box with a handle on it, probably pretty big! But it'll work. Thanks again for all replies. Ah, yeah- one more question, since I've got this going: What does it take to make a PC quiet enough (internally) for recording and other audio work? I think I can work out external noise, as I have room noise issues anyway here at home.

This is a pretty old thread, but I'd recommend checking out for a good starting point for silencing PCs.
