Recording Audio from external Synth

This test project has 3 tracks. Track 1 = Audio File of drums Track 2 = Midi track Track 3 = Audio track to record the audio generated by synth via track 2. The problem I'm having is that when I record Audio on track3 Track 1 is bleeding into my audio track 3 audio recording. Is there a way from me to only record the audio generated by track 2 (The synth sound only and not also the audio from track 1? Thanks

Where is the Audio Output of track 1 going? From what you say it is going to somewhere where it is part of the Audio Input of track 3, so your audio routing is not correct. Tell us a bit more: are you using a mixing desk? What sort of audio interface?

Sounds like a "What you hear" setting on your soundcard. Do a search on the forums for "What you hear", and it should clear it up. If not, then in short your soundcard may be setup to record what it's "hearing", rather than the input channel. Change this, and it may clear it up. ???

OK I will have a look at what you hear. Just to added some information I am using an Edirol FA 66 firewire sound card on windows 7. I do have hardware mixer. Is that a mixing desk?
