Reaper, Nebula 2 + Vista. Help? [solved]

I remember trying Nebula a while back and it hung up on me before I could do anything useful.. but it's quite highly recommended by its fans so I thought I'd try again. The latest Nebula 3 Free seemed stable, so I thought for 20 bucks I'd try Nebula 2. At first it loaded up in Reaper, but as soon as I selected a preset, clicked PROG and tried to move a slider.. it hung.. And I'm getting no .SER file created either. I thought it might be Vista file permissions so tried re-installing, changing permissions etc.. to no avail.. Oddly, even with a completely fresh install (manually deleting the old plugin's directories) the plugin doesn't even get as far as loading a preset now, just hangs during the initialising. The official support line is still telling me the basics of how to install and not really paying much attention to the specifics so thought I'd try here. I'm on Vista, running as a non admin user, with Reaper 2.54 and Nebula 1.3.170. Anyone have this running with a similar setup, or fixed some problems like this?

i do have the same setup, kinda, i have vista 64 bit with nebula 1.3 .. something running without any problems. I don't have any solutions, but you could try to mailing them(nebula guys) at . I had some registration problems when I went from Xp to vista 64 and they were really responsive and helpful.

Thanks Mike.. got it working in the end. Worked out I needed to install somewhere not under 'Program Files' and add full control of the folder to my user. Think Vista's protections were getting in the way, causing it to hang when trying to write some registration information. As I mentioned, I was trying also to solve via the nebula guys themselves.. They were indeed very responsive and quick to respond - but like all support lines, takes a few mails to convince them you have the machine turned on and can be trusted to run the installer :) Time to go play

glad you got it working,i misunderstood support lines, i thought you ment their forums by that. That kinda makes my first reply completely useless :-) kinda like this one ..
