I've recently heard that you can get an OSX only G4 tower changed to dual boot (OSX and 9.2). On the other hand, I've also heard that this is not possible. Does anyone definitely know of a way that this can be done, and how you go about it?
The ability to do this can only be done with a CMOS update from Apple, which they do not distribute outside the company walls. It's not a software issue. It's the physical hardware that will not process OS9.x kernal instruction sets. Remember OS9 is a proprietary OS. OS X is based on Unix. It's rather easy to restrict the hardware to a specific OS rather than include the ability to run multiple OS's.
