what should i charge..

i am just getting started out in freelance but dont know what i should really charge... i am a hip hop/r&b music producer and also an engineer. i also am a prolific songwriter.. what is normally the going rate for someone who has no credits yet?????

i think it depends on where you are located. where i live, i could get away with about 30 bucks an hour...

right now i am in orlando florida attending full sail but i am moving back home to miami in november... any one know the going rates there??

If the artist or band sucks, charge them whatever they're willing to pay. If they are truly talented, do it for free or next to nothing and build a demo reel. Once you make a couple great recording with good artists that have some following, the work will start coming. Don't burn yourself right off the bat by trying to make a ton of money, or even enough to live on. You'll make more in the end....
