Any word on when the 002 can control 3rd party software?

Hi as some of you know i have split loyalties with Pro Tools and Cubase SX(I have/use both). Now that the 002 has ASIO drivers it can be used with SX as an interface which is very cool, but.... Is there any word on whether or not the 002 control surface will be compatable with 3rd party software? I really want one, but cant see myself using LE as my primary DAW over SX. Thanks for any info.

off-topic but why did you spend $2000 on digi 002. when the plugins are RTAS and work for protools, but you use cubase SX? if its for the control unit why not mackie HUI?

Digidesign says in the compatability docs that it doesn't control other software (besides plug ins) and they have made no comments that would suggest any change to that is envisioned.
