connecting to own private server

Hi, Just set up a private server folowing the instructions on the ninjam.com site. The problem is, I dont know what to do after the server is running. How do I connect? What's the server's name? How can other people connect? Thanks

I setup a server for newbies sorta thing on which contains the Ninjam Server with config and extra help in there with most common settings set for home users. Also contains NINJAMCAST with setup help and most common setup for home users, NINJAMCAST was created by Brennan. There's a readme in there too aswell as extra instructions in the cfg's. If your connecting to a 2049 port server the port does not need to be supplied so localhost like damned said or 127.0.0.1, same goes for other servers on port 2049 but if the port is other than 2049 then it needs to be added to a connect address using :2050 etc. To get your server seen in a public list you can try ours at Just join up then also setup a and download there software in the support area. This will allow you to have a URL instead of random ip which is best not showing to all over the net. You would then have say sepiot.dyndns.org:2049 as your server address. Soon as this is done I just need via pm your server url as I just mentioned and the Status User and Password explained in the ninjamerserver.cfg. Once you've PM'd me these detailed with in a few mins of me reading it will be added. If you setup NINJAMCAST also I will need the shoutcast or icecast or stream link then you can have a live listen button on your server int he list. Most other stuff like opening router port of your server and allowing through firewall when it first asks on first run has been covered in Damned's post.

If ya want it in the list just let me know and I'll add it but will need Status user and pw and any links to sites you have and if private or public or other.

As was saying Andy, you can set up a dynamic hostname on , and install a client on your pc for it to update automatically your ips changes. Check for example and explanation.
