constant level through a cd?

I just finished recording about 6 songs. Im about to mix, bounce to disk, and straight to toast to burn. My question, what can I do to keep a consistent level throughout all the songs on the cd? any help will be appreciated. thanks , (new to hd recording)

careful mixing, trial and error, comparing your mixes to each other. compression. eq. a mastering processor. a trained set of ears. good old elbow grease. please for the love of god, don't just SMASH everything. use good judgement.

Isn't that what Maxim is for? But that's an extra you have to buy, right? Matt
