Here is where I am confused. I have a HD system with a MIDI I/O on one Mac computer. I have a second mac that has sequencing software hooked up to a Digi 002. I connected the Digi 002 (second computer) MIDI in and out to the in and out port of the MIDI I/O of computer 1 and they can not see each other. Do I need to install the driver for the MIDI I/O on the second computer so it will see the MIDI I/O hooked up to computer 1? I had hoped that I could use the second computer for sound modules/MIDI/Internet and keep my HD system as lean and clean as possible. Any thoughts?
You cannot use the MIDI IO on 2 computers simultaneously. You could, however, install the MIDI IO driver on the LE system computer and connect the MIDI IO via USB to that system when you want to use it on that computer.
I would just keep the HD system separate myself I would simply sync the two up with MTC/MMC and wordlock. Now you have two systems running in complete sync. Use the DIGI002 computer for your internet, midi, softsynths, whatever.
