Saving again, sorry:(

Hello all and I apologize for bringing this up again. I thought I understood this correctly but I guess not. Ok, I created a new project (the kiddies made a little rap thingie for grandmas b-day:)) and first thing I did was choose "save as" and selected "create subdirectory" and "copy all media" and saved to my D Drive which now has a Reaper Projects folder. Then I proceeded to drag in some media drum loops and created the project. Then I selected "save". Now I went to check the folder on my D Drive to be sure all was there and the sub folder was there but only with the project file and backup file, no peak files or .wav files. I looked for the peak files and found them in my media library next to the .wav files I used for the project. Then I did another "save as" with the "create subdirectory" and "copy all media" and everything went to the sub folder as wanted. I thought that by selecting the "copy all media" option at the very first saving that any media brought into the project afterwards would be automatically copied to the project folder. No? Do I have to do a "save as" everytime AFTER I bring media files in? Thanks, and again please accept my apologies.

Thanks for the reply. Shouldn't the peak files automatically go into the projects folder instead of the file where the media is located? I mean, why create a subdirectory folder if nothing else goes there but the project itself?... Thanks.

Yeah, they show up in the folder with a *long* alpha/numeric name. I (you) don't really need these files, they are more for Reaper to 're-draw' peaks without having to create new ones. Like I said previously I occasionally delete all the peak files, I just cleared it during my previous post and it was 23.3 MBs. The next time a project gets opened in Reaper the 'peaks' will be re-created and there is an entry made in the Reapeaks file. ;)
